How much detail about past lovers should you tell your boyfriend?

How much information about your past sex life should you tell your partner? As a female I feel like if I say any numbers or tell him who I did anything with he obsess over it or get mad at me. I feel like the past is the past. The only important information you should share is whether or not you have any stds, which I dont.

Let us start with your first question.

You tell them as much as they can handle.You are right to question how much information is TOO MUCH.

The thing I would try to figure out is why do they want to know? How detailed do they want you to get? I can tell you one thing I would never want to hear . . . how much better the other partner was in comparison to me. That would be just WRONG – WRONG WRONG WRONG.

Is he asking you about your past? I personally would find out why and if telling him anything would make it better or worse. As far as I can tell if he asked, tell him. Tell him how you feel about him and that all this was in the past.

This is what you have to get him to understand – - past relationships are the past and the past can never be changed. The best you can hope for is to live in the moment and devote yourself to the relationship you are currently in. If it did not work out, learn from it and move on.

Most men just want to know that they satisfy you and that ‘your man’ means everything to you, that he is the best… even if you have to tell a white lie or two.

Honest is the best policy, yet you have to gage what he can handle without causing more problems.
